Moving Forward

I spent almost 10 years working for companies. I always tried to do my best work at them. But something did`t fit.

I was always good in solving problems, love math and logic, and the graduation on Computer Science school was perfect for me. I worked for some small companies (with some big internacional clients) and others not so small. I worked with from simple desktop softwares, to big ones, used for all the country, and countries around the world. Worked in big teams and small teams, and never had difficult to share tasks always looking forward to improve my skills and help other members of the teams to do the same.

But 2 years ago, my son was born and I asked the company I was working for, to work at home, because it was far from my house. And I could see why something did`t fit before.

- No waste of time in traffic jam. Working at home I could breastfeed my son and also win some time to be with my family, instead of commuting.
- No interruptions. Inside the company, I always had to work with headphones and loud music, because the environment was noisy, many people chatting around me. At home, I can concentrate better and the quality of my work and time working had improved.
- The work flows. The logical programming are the challenge I love the best. Valuing the time share and activities management, the work flows much better.

Finally I found the employment option that fits me. The company could`t keep this home work of so long, so I quit my job and started freelancing.

It is very important to be learning. New technologies are a challenge. Speaking about programming languages, the graduation school taught C++, at the companies job I learned C, C# and in this few time of freelancing, I already learned ASP.NET, Go!, development for Android and iOS. I love new learnings and the home office could allow me to do that.

The areas I could work with are wide. I have interests in music (play the piano), arts (took part of drawing workshops), photography (took part of photography workshops, events and exhibitions), fashion (graduation in Fashion and Image Consultant, and Cosmetics Consultant) and love to help people (I am part of a social action`s group called Grupo PAI). If I could join the Software Development with any of this passions, I will be in the heaven.

I was searching for contracts through personal contacts, and the problem of this is that I`ve been dependent to them.

When I heard about Toptal, I felt that it was my place. The best freelancers are working there and many top companies and start-ups choose them to develop software projects. It is the tool I`ve been searching to do what I do best (programming), depending only on me. There are long-term contracts, in different areas. I really want to join the TopTal Web Freelancers Network. I`m very excited to be part of the team and I hope it happens soon. Because... it fits!

Hello World

Como todo bom programador sempre começa pelo seu Hello World, nada mais normal do que começar assim por aqui.
